How Sugar Rush works

Sugar Rush pays for clusters instead of lines. A cluster of 5 or more matching candies wins, the winning symbols are removed and new ones tumble in. Clusters of 15 or more of the top symbol pay up to 150x the bet in the base game. Gummy bears and jellybeans line the reels, and the look is the same family as Sweet Bonanza, but the two games share almost nothing in how they pay. Sugar Rush is about positions on the grid, not about the number of symbols that land.

Marked spots and multipliers

When a cluster wins, its symbols mark their spots on the grid. If another winning symbol lands on a marked spot during the same spin, that spot gets a multiplier. It starts at 2x and doubles each time the spot is hit again, up to 128x. Any win that touches multiplied spots is boosted by them. In the base game every marked spot resets after the spin ends, so a chain of tumbles has to do all the work on its own.

The free spins round

Landing 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 scatters awards 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins. In the base game the marked spots reset after every spin. In free spins they do not: marked spots and their multipliers stay for the entire round, so the grid gets stronger with every win. A round that marks the centre of the grid early can turn ordinary clusters into large wins by its last spins, which is why the 30-spin trigger is the one players want.

What to watch in the demo

In free spins, watch where the marked spots collect. Multipliers grouped in one corner need a cluster to land right on top of them, so a busy grid does not always mean a big win. Also compare a 10-spin round with a longer one. The difference is not only the number of spins but how far the multipliers have doubled by the end.

Who the game suits

Sugar Rush suits players who like watching a round build rather than waiting for one big symbol. The mechanic rewards patience inside the bonus and punishes short rounds. If you enjoy the pay-anywhere games but want something where the grid itself carries memory, this is the closer fit. If you want simple line wins, it will feel busy.

Sugar Rush and Sweet Bonanza

Both games wear the same candy theme and both use tumbling reels, which is why they are often confused. Sweet Bonanza counts symbols anywhere on the screen and adds multiplier bombs in free spins. Sugar Rush pays clusters and builds multipliers on fixed positions. Play the demos back to back and the difference is obvious within a few spins.

Base game versus bonus

The base game of Sugar Rush can pay decently because clusters of mid symbols are common and the 150x top cluster is within reach on a long tumble. The bonus is still where the big results come from, because the persistent multipliers only exist there. Expect the same pattern as most Pragmatic Play slots: a base game that keeps you going and a round that decides the session.

Questions about Sugar Rush

What is the RTP of Sugar Rush?

The official Pragmatic Play page lists 96.50%. Casinos can run a different RTP setting, so check the information panel inside the game.

How do the multipliers work?

Winning clusters mark their positions. A second win on a marked spot in the same spin gives it a 2x multiplier, which doubles on every further hit up to 128x.

How many free spins can you get?

3 to 7 scatters award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins. During the round the marked spots and multipliers do not reset between spins.

Is there a free demo?

Yes. The demo on this page runs the full game with play money and no registration.

Verdict

Sugar Rush turns a cluster slot into a memory game: the grid remembers where you won and pays you more for winning there again. The bonus round is the reason to play, and long rounds are worth far more than short ones. It is the more thoughtful of the two candy slots and the better one for players who like a slow build.
